The project produces 3 urban installations / signals and an alternative cultural tour of recent artistic interventions throughout the public space in Bucharest. The open call has the dual character of producing street artistic interventions, as well as identifying areas of interest to the public.
The alternative cultural tour promotes urban exploration, access to collective memory and reveals, layer-by-layer, multi-cultural and diversity of local history, enhancing feelings of belonging and affection for the city.
Urban Signal I is the inauguration of a new public space dedicated to super-contemporary art, the host of a mysterious object created by Pisica Pătrată
Inspired by the building’s enigmatic past and moving future, Skinny Bunny decorates the façade and you are invited to drop by and see her at work. The installation announces the future rehabilitation of Omnia Hall as the National Centre for Contemporary Dance Bucharest.
Un-hidden Bucharest – Urban Signal III illuminates the 2016 intervention of Pisica Pătrată and the monument building with the help of an ephemeral intervention created by VJ VLC, revealing the history and the future of Cinema Marconi.
On September 9, Sorina Vazelina’s illustrations extend Lente‘s universe, joining the totem by Pisica Pătrată. The distinct interventions of the two artists generate, through dialogue with the passersby and the built environment, a new scenario for the public space.
The alternative tour, which is available in print and as a web map, features 21 fresh public art interventions in Bucharest.
